Hart.There were four general stores, a saw mill and a planing mill in the town.
It was incorporated about 1872, but the incorporation was allowed to lapse. It was laid out in 1871 1 hotel, 2 stores, 1 church, and 1 public school. It was named in 1876, for Anna, wife of Thomas Allen, Railroad president, with a side glance at Annapolis, Maryland. (- The Empire That Missouri Pacific Serves, p.190.)
